I am an educator and musician - most of my career was spent in the secondary mathematics classroom teaching grades 8 to Calculus 12. I also taught preK and elementary grades. Then I had the chance to do my Doctor of Education - really hard! - but so good for my brain :)
In 2011, I began a new but much shorter career, as a university professor, where I taught methods courses - secondary, middle, and elementary mathematics education.
Now (Since Mid-October 2017), I spend all my free time making music! :) . Visit me at YouTube or on Spotify :)
How we teach math does make a difference for our students' experiences; so I have decided to collect some of the resources I used and developed over time, and post them here for anyone to use.
It's all free - you are worth it!
Keep on teaching and singing (OH and dancing!) :)
Lorraine
p.s. just for fun, my husband, John, and I decided to take on a little bit of mountain hiking last summer - it was quite hard! The photo of me above is from a hike we did up Mount Cokely on beautiful Vancouver Island. We also climbed Mount Arrowsmith! Yikes - that was something. The knees didn't work for quite a few days afterward ;)
